Chesapeake Tri-Association Conference

AquaSmart provided a 30-minute training for operators and engineering credit during the annual Chesapeake Tri-Con. This class focused on the life of phosphorus from source to water treatment to wastewater discharge and how corrosion inhibitor treatment decisions affect drinking and wastewater chemistries. Our work in the UK was highlighted. With our findings there being used as cautionary lessons for the upcoming lead and copper rule improvements. Specifically, the potential impact on wastewater treatment plants and how we are working towards a solution to that situation. The session was very well attended, and we would like to thank the Chesapeake AWWA, Chesapeake WEA, and Water Works Operators of MD, DE, and DC for the opportunity to speak.

NJ Water Association

AquaSmart provided 2 separate 3-hour trainings for TCH credits for operators and engineers. Central to the class was taking a holistic approach to corrosion control treatment. Accounting for not only how corrosion inhibitors interact with the water distribution systems but also how those inhibitors affect drinking and wastewater chemistries. Included in this presentation was a hands-on demonstration. Both trainings were well attended and received 25 and 40 participants, respectively. We look forward to future events with the NJ Water Association.
